Don't worry, be happy

One of those crazy days where a lot of little things put hiccups in my day. Sometimes, it's the little things that can make your day or break it down. At one point today, it was definitely starting to border on the latter.

So, I repeated a simple mantra that helps me to remember, to keep it light and keep it moving... "Don't sweat the small stuff."  Along with a few others sayings like, "This too shall pass" and "If He brings you to it, He will see you through it."

Yes, I had encountered several little aggravations today, but no one was sick or hurt. No major travesty had occurred. All the friends and loved ones were healthy and safe... and so was I.  'Nuff said.

I needed to shake it off and keep it moving.  And that's just what I did.

My joy moment today was not letting the little things ruin my day but instead, remembering all the big things that enrich me on a daily basis.

Yes, Ms. Girl may get a little corny at times, LOL. But hey, I am on a happy hunt. :-)

Each day counts. No time to waste one on silliness.  Life is short. :-)

The hunt continues...

Stay tuned :-)

New Place, New Face

First day at the new gig. Felt like the first day of school, LOL. Except, I don't remember all the teachers giving us a warm greeting :-)

My new co-workers and execs made me feel very welcome.

It was a full day of meetings, meet and greets and information overload. More to come, for sure!

My joy moment today was starting a creative, new gig working in show development.

Hopefully, it will be as fun as it sounds. The hectic and crazy parts are a given, LOL.

But it's all good and comes with the territory.

Looking forward it!  ... And to sharing more with ya.

Stay tuned :-)

Palms Up!

One of the things I love about living in California are all the beautiful palm trees.  They're everywhere you turn, in different sizes, shapes and assortments.  I can't help but snap a picture of them, every now and then.

Okay, I'm a little obsessed...

My joy moment today was snapping up a few more palm tree pics to add to my collection.

It's the little things, people! LOL.

Stay tuned :-)

Cheers to my Gran!

I had a sweet conversation with my grandmother today. She just turned 84-years-old!

She was telling me how much she enjoyed the presents and multiple cards I sent her. I even sent her a card from her cute, little Pomeranian, and lovable companion dog, "Munchie."  She really got a kick out of that one.

Although, I couldn't be with her, the next best thing was hearing her excitement as she gave me a detailed recap of her birthday weekend. She was truly elated over all the phone calls, presents, visits and activities celebrating her special day.

She told me it was one of her best birthdays and that she felt blessed and happy.

Hearing her say that, and knowing my fav little lady had a great day filled me up... and was definitely my joy moment for today.

Happy Birthday, Gran!  And many more!!  Love ya!

Stay tuned :-)

Kaboom!

Did something a little different this year on the 4th. I checked out Kaboom!... An annual fireworks celebration at Fairplex park.  It's actually two shows in one.

The first part was a monster truck and motor-cross show. I'd never been to this type of show, so I didn't know what to expect.

I have to say, it was a lot of fun watching professional daredevils perform cool stunts using bikes and hyped up, over-sized trucks. I found myself jumping up and cheering with the crowd when the riders did mind-blowing turns on their bikes... high up in the air, no less!  And those guys driving the monster trucks can do some pretty cool things in those big-wheeled babies. Check out the video, below!

The second half, was an amazing fireworks display set to crowd pleasing music. Both kids and adults, were oohing and ahhing at the beautifully choreographed light show.

It turned out to be a pretty cool way to spend the 4th of July.  Lots of food, fun and fireworks! :-)

Here are some pics from the day...

The guys on the bikes did some crazy moves, but not one of them had a spill :-)

Monster Truck Mania!  Check out my video...

My joy moment today was doing something very different for the 4th of July... and enjoying it!

Cheers to the USA and to our troops!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday.

Stay tuned :-)

Giddy Up!

This afternoon I took a trip to Norco, California. A horse community town nicknamed Horsetown, USA.  Great place for horseback riding.

We had perfect, sunny weather for the 5 mile, 90 minute, trail ride. Beautiful horses and a great scenic route were in store. So much fun! We rode up hills, down hills, through a river, and into a bamboo jungle. No kidding. We even saw a coyote! Thankfully, it was waaay in the distance... or Ms. girl would have been off and running, with or without her horse, LOL!

Speaking of, I had a lovely horse named Jack, that was gentle and mellow. Although, he quickly let me know (with a strong shake of his head) when I was holding the reigns too tight. Other than that, he was a masterful navigator of the steep hills and narrow trails. The few times he broke out into a fast trot were the best times... both scary and fun!

We had a great group, too. Lots of laughter, chatter and picture taking. Here a few shots from the day...

My joy moment today was a fun, horseback riding adventure.

I'll be back, Jack! :-)

Stay tuned :-)

That's Amore!

Pasta. Alfredo sauce. Roasted chicken and sautéed shrimp.  Need I say more?  I don't know about you, but just saying the word, "pasta", puts me in a good mood, LOL.

I had dinner this evening with a good friend at Macaroni Grill.  I'm a Mac grill newbie, yet I have to say, I had a great time at the Italian Mediterranean restaurant.

Good food, pleasant staff, and fun, Italian music wafting through the air... That's Amore!  :-)

My joy moment today was din din with my friend friend, LOL.  Always a good time and our Mac Grill trip was a nice way to end a Friday.

Hope you had a great one!

Arrivederci!!

Stay tuned :-)

Lucky Duck

Ever have one of those days where you get lucky breaks?

Like when you catch a series of green traffic lights and you're able to get to your destination on time. Or when you go into a store and find the last available item that you were looking for.

Today I had one of those days. I had a lot of mundane errands to run, and lengthy lines for each one. Check up for the car... Computer repair shop... Post office... Errands, errands and more errands.

But for some reason, every customer service rep that I met was helpful and friendly, and made each task smoother and faster. At one location, I was the first one taken off a long line, although, I wasn't even the next one up. And, no, there wasn't any batting of the eyelashes involved... LOL.

At the computer repair store, I was told there weren't any available appointments until the middle of next week. Yet, somehow, to the surprise of the salesgirl, one slot just happened to open up at that very moment.

Top it off, I was able to get choice parking spots (right out front!) at a couple of the destinations. Lucky day, indeed.

My joy moment today was getting a few lucky breaks that helped me get my errands done smoothly and efficiently.

Now if only some of that luck would rub off when I'm playing the Lotto, LOL.

Stay tuned :-)
