Made it through another week. Happy. Grateful. And it was my joyful moment for today.  Oh, yeah!

A New Day!

The beginning of a new day brings about a chance for new paths, new adventures, even a do-over, if we wish.

Yesterday is over and tomorrow's not here yet. But today, the present, is an opportunity to begin anew, a fresh start.

Each new day really is a "present"...  a gift for us to unravel, explore, investigate, appreciate, admire... whatever we want it to be. And the wonderful part, we get a new opportunity every 24 hours to make it our own.

Is there anything you've putting off or wanting to try? Someone you've been meaning to call or see? Something you've been wanting to do or plan? No time like the present! It's a brand new day...  go for it!

Whether it's simple, silly or sublime. Do something that will make you or someone you love, smile... today.    

My joy moment today was appreciating the gift that a new day brings... I'm grateful for it!

Cheers to my Gran!

I had a sweet conversation with my grandmother today. She just turned 84-years-old!

She was telling me how much she enjoyed the presents and multiple cards I sent her. I even sent her a card from her cute, little Pomeranian, and lovable companion dog, "Munchie."  She really got a kick out of that one.

Although, I couldn't be with her, the next best thing was hearing her excitement as she gave me a detailed recap of her birthday weekend. She was truly elated over all the phone calls, presents, visits and activities celebrating her special day.

She told me it was one of her best birthdays and that she felt blessed and happy.

Hearing her say that, and knowing my fav little lady had a great day filled me up... and was definitely my joy moment for today.

I Love You

Today someone close to me told me that they loved me. They said they appreciated our friendship and that no matter what, they knew that I had their back and they had mine.  

The person wasn't sick or ill. They weren't delirious or depressed. They weren't moving away and never coming back. Actually, we were just talking about old times and our friendship.

In case I didn't know or they hadn't told me, they wanted me to know how much they cared.

If that doesn't make your day, I don't know what does! It was definitely my joy moment for today.

The Big One!

I hit the jackpot!!!

Whoo-hoo! Going to pick up a bunch of friends and family and go on a long, extended vacation... all around the world!  First stop, a private jet to an amazing tropical island!  Effective immediately.

Headed to the airport, packing just my purse and a big 'ol smile.
Some.  Things.  Are.  Going.  To.  Change.  Big Time!!

Then I came back to earth.  My daydream ended.  Reality check!!

I snapped out of my fantasy fog and tuned back into the conversation. My friend has just told me that the convenience store near my old place, sold a 12 million dollar lottery ticket. Something told me not to move! LOL.

We both sat for a moment dreaming of all the things we could do if either of us hit the big one... We'd take care of friends and family... Donate money to charities and worthy causes... Purchase a beautiful house by the water.... Travel to exotic places... Buy a fabulous wardrobe... Nice cars...  Every now and then it's nice to dream.

My joy moment today was having some fun fantasizing with a friend about all the things we could do if we won the million dollar prize.

Coming back to reality wasn't so bad, because I'm still a rich girl. I have things that money can't buy...  the genuine love of friends and family. It may sound corny but it's true. Haven't we all heard those unfortunate stories of the lonely and troubled millionaire?

Someone once said, "The best things in life are not things."  I'd have to agree.

Take that, Mr. Lottery Maker!  LOL.

Note-worthy Day

I received a late Valentine's Day card today from a good friend.

Inside, my friend wrote the nicest note encouraging me to make my writing dreams a reality. It's something we've discussed in the past and he was sending me a friendly (and humorous) note to remind me.

It was so thoughtful and sweet.   There is nothing like a good friend.   Friends who do thoughtful things to let you know they're thinking of you. Friends who are encouraging and supportive.  Friends who are there for you just because they care.

The note made my day and made me take extra notice of our great friendship.

I sent him an email letting him know how much I appreciated his note and him.  Yes, we had a letter love-fest.  I'd say it was a pretty note-worthy day.
